Play Priorities

The International School of Kenya is a private, non-profit PreK to Grade 12 school nestled on 40 acres of a former coffee plantation. The school serves the educational needs of both expatriate and Kenyan students with a focus on inspiring and nurturing passion, creativity and ambition in pursuit of a better world.

Playground Centre assisted the school to add some extra fun, with serious benefits to their play space.

Fun Solution

This project demonstrated how the addition of a single piece of play equipment can deliver a wide-range of physical and social play benefits.

The Rimu Tree Climbing Structure – a 2.95m roped frame with spring motion and rotating function – is designed to encourage children of different ages and abilities to play together.

Big enough and strong enough to enable a number of children to play at once, the carousel-style structure maximises opportunities for interaction and teamwork. Children big and small help each other to navigate their way up and around the Rimu Tree or work together to make the carousel bounce and spin.
