Fun central to modern lifestyle
Inclusive and fun, the Central Park Playground is a fitting addition to Nelson’s newest suburb, The Meadows, where open spaces, shared pathways and landscaped waterways put an active and connected community front and centre.
The bespoke playground, designed and crafted by Playground Centre, was designed to mirror and complement the aesthetics of its central location while providing the perfect mix of fun to ensure The Meadow’s youngest residents ‘love where they live’.
Collaboration
Working in close collaboration with the teams from Richmond West Development Company Ltd and Tasman District Council, our playground designers found the perfect first home for Playground Centre’s new Sussex toddler series. The all-in-one playground, along with the inclusive Urban Basket Swing, were custom-finished to mirror the colours and architectural features of the adjacent homes and adjoining restaurant, while promising plenty of fun and imaginative play opportunities for children growing up in The Meadows.
Solution
Surrounded by landscaped native gardens, this small but mighty playground provides plenty of climbing, sliding and swinging joy for children aged five and under.
The compact Sussex includes three stepped levels of fun, including two climbing nets, a climbing wall, a fireman’s pole and slide. While the inclusion of binoculars instantly transforms the structure into a ship, a hide-out or perhaps a rocket. The possibilities for adventure and exploration are endless with a little imagination!
The sturdy basket swing has room for more than one to sit, stand or lie down, appealing to all ages and abilities, whether for play or relaxation.
