Play Priorities

It was action stations from the get-go on this project to create a new playspace for Faringdon kids in collaboration with Kamo Marsh Landscape Architects.

With a tight timeframe, and a focus on designing a playground with a real ‘feel-good’ factor that would entice children of all ages to engage in active, outdoor play, we pulled out all stops to bring the vision for this community playspace to life.

Fun Solution

Our New Zealand manufacturing capability came to the fore in the design and construction of the Faringdon Reserve Playground in Christchurch.

The playground features custom-made Wobbly Wood play structures, designed to provide children – from infants to teenagers – with an exciting array of age-appropriate confidence and coordination-building challenges in a safe, supervised environment.

The versatile Wobbly Wood Lismore 2121, finished in contrasting rustic red and woody brown stains, is the centrepiece of the playground. The Lismore 2121 incorporates different play experiences for different age groups and skill levels, with a high tower, slide and adjoining balance beams and a low tower accessed via a sloping plank or railed walkway. There’s also a 2-metre wide Inclusive Carousel which is wheelchair and pram accessible to enable carers and children to take a spin together.

Our Wobbly Wood range is made locally from sustainably sourced timber, allowing our clients to benefit from shorter lead times and communities to benefit from stylish and sturdy play equipment with solid eco-credentials.
