Agility
equipment
Climbing, balancing, gymnastics, mastering mon-
key bars, even just sitting quietly and watching,
are all essential elements of psychomotor de-
velopment through play. Balancing on a narrow
surface, learning to propel yourself along hori-
zontal bars or looking down from the dizzying
height of a climbing frame – all these things
take strength and courage. Children need to
be allowed to see how far they can push them-
selves. The further they are from the ground,
the greater the mental and physical challenge
and – most important – the more fun they have.
Ground-level play equipment provides the per-
fect opportunity for imaginative movement
play for groups of children. These are a fun way
to improve fine motor skills and learn how to co-
operate with other children.
